Bhakti Rose - Things I'm Loving

Namaste beauty,

It’s been a quiet month for me (well, as quiet as school holidays can be with a newborn in tow!) and I’ve been feeling reflective and peaceful.

I’ve been watching this and (and thoroughly enjoying it) and reading this incredible book which is very long and a bit niche (definitely not for everyone) but I am absolutely loving it.

On the business front (I am always learning and growing in this online space) I’ve been learning about stocks and shares here (yes really!) and continuing my ongoing mentoring journey with my dear teacher Elena Brower.

I’ve been contemplating the teaching of non-attachment (such a big one on the bhakti path) in both parenting and business.  Which is not to say that either area isn’t going well, but just to remind myself to go gently with my own agendas.  It is always better that way.

One of the secrets to prosperity is to design your work around your lifestyle, rather than let it dictate the quality of your life. Take the initiative but don’t let the results carry you away.’ Richard Rudd (Gene Keys).

Krishna: You have the right to take action, but never to the fruit of the action. You should never engage in action for the sake of reward, nor should you long for inaction. Perform work in this world, Arjuna, as a man established within himself - without selfish attachments, and alike in success and defeat. For yoga is perfect evenness of mind.’ Bhagavad Gita (translated by Eknath Easwaran).

In the spirit of non-attachment and greater rest I’ve let go of a couple of things this last month too.  My tea business sold within hours of going up for sale (there was so much interest!) and I also decided to let go of the DoTerra part of my business.  There are only so many hours in the day (and a lot of children in my days!) and it feels good to consolidate my offerings.  I've always suffered from ‘shiny object syndrome’ and often take on too much.  I am making a practice of keeping things simple in all areas at the moment.

This month of May I’m travelling to Krishna Village on a road trip with my partner and our baby girl so that I can teach an ayurveda retreat.  I can't wait, it really is my favourite place!  Yay!  This retreat is sold out but I do have more coming up later this year if you want to join me in paradise.

Be well friends, and let’s be kind to each other.

Sending love
