My Favourite Things (March 2024)

katie rose personal transformation things i'm loving Mar 02, 2024

Hi dear friends,

Happy 1st of March. Last month flew by (I feel like I'm always saying this but seriously where does the time go?).

Here's a wee round-up of some of the things I enjoyed in February:

LISTENING to lots of training with Victoria Washington (I'm a super-fan) specifically right now I'm doing a training with her on making an excellent online membership. I already have a pretty excellent online membership #ifidosaysomyself but I have huge plans for Bhakti Club this year.

LISTENING to my dear teacher of over 25 years Sharon Gannon in this beautiful recent interview

NOT READING(!) I tried to read 'Where the Crawdads Sing' by Delia Owens because so many people recommended it to me and my mum said it was one of the best books she's ever read (she's a prolific reader like me and we often share similar taste although she is a bit darker than me!). I hated it. I know it's really well written but it was so depressing. I don't mind a 'struggle story' but this was just bleak. I gave up after three chapters. Have you read it? Should I persevere?

WATCHING 'One Day' on Netflix. You know I love a rom-com. I'm also always nostalgic for London in the 90s because I lived it myself so this series was very close to my heart. I loved the book. I loved the first movie. And this remake did not disappoint.

Talking of re-makes that don't disappoint if you've read my book 'Trust Life, Trust Yourself, Find Peace' you'll know that I'm a big fan of 'A Star is Born'. Both the 1970's version (for Barbara Streisand's fashion alone! And that Mexican ranch! OMG, her acting in this movie is incredible. Both understated and moving at the same time) and the Lady Gaga / Bradley Cooper one. Both are so great.

ADVOCATING for peace and ceasefire in Palestine. Honestly, this has been at the forefront of my mind all of this month. I feel genuinely crippled with the feeling of helplessness and have been reflecting deeply on what I can do to be an agent for change. Apart from contacting your MP (please do this if you haven't already) I think two very powerful things to do are pray and talk about what is going on. I'm also working on some resources for you all that might give more suggestions. I want to make sure they're actually impactful rather than tokenistic so I'm in contemplation mode for that at the moment too.

ATTENDING a lot of kirtans this last month (and we're going again this evening for a special event with one of my favourites). I usually go to events with Kirtan Sydney which I love. I'll also be heading up to the New Gokal Farm for a celebration of Holi in March which looks super fun.

That's all from me for this month.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend. Squeeze your loved ones and count your blessings,
