Welcome! I'm Katie Rose and I'm thrilled to invite you to a new online training ‘Bhagavad Gita: Wisdom for Women’. I just checked my bookshelf and I have 12 versions of the Gita in my library. To say my relationship with this text has been deep and lifelong is an understatement. For years I was a bit confused about some of the anti-feminist interpretations (some were just downright misogynistic!). But I’ve come to realise there is nuance here. Women have a place in the Vedic traditions and it’s a very settled and sweet role to embrace if it’s understood with wisdom. Here, with great reverence I am offering teachings both ancient and modern on this beautiful and relevant text.
What I most want you to know the about me is that I'm just an ordinary woman doing her best to live a kind life in connection with the Divine, within the scramble and overwhelm that is the modern world.
I get overwhelmed and tired.
I get impatient with my children.
I have days where I don't like my appearance.
I procrastinate and I sometimes lack discipline.
And in amongst these challenges I have a deep faith in God and lots of tools learned over decades (mostly from the Bhagavad Gita!) to support me in doing better. In feeling well, in befriending myself and showing up as an engaged mother, partner and member of our communities.

I’m so glad you’re interested in exploring ancient yogic teachings through the lens of the healed and devoted feminine with me.
Inside this six-module program I will share supportive teachings for a spiritual life in a time of disorder and distorted values.
In the madness.
Despite the confusion.
It will be a place of true sisterhood and if you’re a woman attempting to navigate the chaos of our modern world with wisdom and love, it will be a haven for you.
If you are a yoga practitioner or teacher no doubt you’ve heard of Bhagavad Gita (the title translates as 'The Song of God'), one of the most important of all ancient yoga texts. Perhaps you know one or two of the more famous teachings from this book. I bet what you don’t know is how profoundly powerful this work could be to your life. How it could transform your relationships, your wellness, your addictions, your dreams and what you’re capable of manifesting. I know because over the last 20 years I’ve studied and applied this text to my own life and been utterly empowered by it time and time again.

First we will establish context and orient ourselves in the text. Then over several sessions we will reflect on one very specific sloka (verse) from the Bhagavad Gita. This one verse talks about the role of women in the bhakti / yoga tradition. And it suggest where our true power lies.
Some of what this verse points to is the qualities of women as:
✨ Life-giving
✨ Intelligent
✨ Worthy of fame and fortune
✨ Skilled and sweet in speech (good communicators)
✨ Consistent
✨ Patient
✨ Cognisant of patterns and the relationships between things.
We will look at what these qualities mean to us in the modern world and where they are helpful and relevant for us today. We'll also look at ways to cultivate the qualities we wish to see more of in our own lives.
This program is part Bhagavad Gita study and part an exploration of your own personal development and spiritual awakening as a woman living in the modern world right now.
ENROL NOWThe Bhagavad Gita is a Bhakti Yoga text. Bhakti means 'wise love through connection to God'. I wasn’t always confident about sharing these teachings even though they have been in my heart for as long as I can remember.
When I first started teaching yoga in my teens I felt very nervous about asking my students to chant OM.
I didn’t talk about God because I didn’t feel like I had the right words.
I wanted to please everyone and be palatable and liked, I didn't want to make anyone feel embarassed or self-conscious.
Fortunately I had incredible teachers (mostly women) who taught me through formal training over decades and by their own lived example to be brave. To take sattvic (wholesome) action. To speak up. I also discovered that the women I was sharing with were hungry for these teachings.
As I get older I’m less worried about what other people will think and more concerned about living in alignment with my own values and in connection to a Higher Power. My most recent book 'Trust Life, Trust Yourself, Find Peace' is all about God and when it was released I felt a new sense of truly stepping into my expression as a teacher.
I’m concerned with being a good steward of the teachings of bhakti. And that’s what I will offer you inside this program. If you want to speak your truth, be supported by strong women, and generally get your life into deep alignment with your values this space is for you.
Over six sessions you can expect:
- To have a good understanding of what's going on in the Bhagavad Gita and how it applies to your life. If you've picked up this text before and wondered what on earth it's all about this training is for you, we'll unpack it step-by-step.
- To have elevated your own personal spiritual practice and you’ll be ready to integrate the ancient philosophy of yoga into your lifestyle and teaching with ease, skill, and grace.

This training is for you if you:
- Have an interest in yoga philosophy but don’t know how it is relevant for you.
- Have been frustrated with the lack of women's teachings in the traditional yoga world.
- Feel stuck in some areas of your life and want to juice up your practice and reignite your spark.
- Wonder about your relationship with God / Higher Power. Are curious about who Krishna is and how He fits in!
- Are a yoga teacher who wants to integrate the teaching of yoga scripture into your classes and offerings in a way that’s relevant and meaningful for a contemporary audience.
- Want to really and deeply understand the Bhagavad Gita but don’t want to spend hours and hours in dry academic study.
It’s not for you if you:
- Want a word for word academic approach to translations and interpretation of each verse (sloka).
- Don’t believe we can apply the teachings of yoga to our modern world in a way that’s juicy and alive.
- Are not willing to look deeply into yourself and poke around in the shadows (as well as the light) to allow personal transformation to blossom.

What people are saying: "I had to reach out to you dearest Katie! A few months back I came across your Instagram page and followed you. You felt so authentic and when I read the word Ayurveda I was instantly transported back to my philosophy classes lead by my wonderful teacher in South Goa on my first yoga teacher training. The past year I've felt like I've taken a couple of steps backward in my spiritual journey (old triggers coming up, returning anxiety, decreased spiritual community in my area, etc.). Anyway, I signed up for training with you and I actually feel like a new woman; the creative juices are flowing, I am journalling every day and my sense of gratitude, positivity, and ability to be more present have also really taken a leap forwards!"

It is said that to really stay anchored in what yoga is we need to come back to scripture. In a world where disco yoga and goat yoga and yoga with wine are all a thing it’s my mission to keep the yoga teachings authentic and accurately alive in my own life and in yours. I also see these teachings as being as relevant in our world of Netflix and Facebook as they were back in the world of Vedic culture and temple life that the Bhagavad Gita came from. The true teachings of yoga live outside of time, space and cultural context - this philosophy and personal-growth course will catalyse you into discovering that for yourself.
