Potions and Oils
Mar 01, 2025
Namaste dear friends,
Welcome to my first-of-the-month favourites note. This time, I'm sharing a few of my most beloved skincare and beauty products. While beauty products aren’t usually at the centre of my world, after a month of holding space for deep conversations on Spiritual Activism (through the Bhakti Women Summit), I feel drawn to something lighter - a touch of the delightful, yet still ethically grounded.
February felt like a slow start into the year for me, my children went back to school gradually, thanks to colds and flus making their rounds, and I found myself more tired than expected. But now, I’m back on track and feeling refreshed, ready to dive into new projects and offerings.
Speaking of which, I have a special blog article coming out for International Women’s Day (8th March), one that I am pouring a lot of thought and energy into. It might even be the beginning of a manifesto for a new book. I’d love for you to look out for it and let me know what you think. I’ll also be sending it via email, so keep an eye on your inbox.
Okay let's dive in, these products are small indulgences, but each one carries a deeper resonance, whether through mindful sourcing, natural ingredients, or simply the joy they bring me.
SIENNA NAIL POLISH
I have a love-hate relationship with painting my nails. It’s one of the few beauty rituals I genuinely enjoy, but I sometimes wonder, do I really need this? What is the carbon footprint of superficial adornment?
That said … here I am, swooning over my latest treat from Sienna, an ethical and non-toxic nail polish brand. As clean as nail polish can be, their formulas are free from nasties and their colours are divine.
My current love? A gold sparkle top coat—because gold sparkle! It adds a little glimmer to my day, and their range of pinks has my heart too. If, like me, you’re drawn to soft, feminine shades, you’ll adore their collection.
CONNECTION BY FELICIA ROBEY
Felicia, my dear friend, is an artisan of sacred self-care. Her small-batch creations are infused with love and deep intentionality. Every detail, from her sourcing to her exquisite repurposed fabric wrapping, leans into devotion.
Her Sea of Nectar is my favourite, but truly, all of her oils are a sensory delight (chai coffee abhyanga oil, anyone?) If you're in Sydney and eager to deepen your understanding of grassroots Ayurveda, Felicia is offering a treatments training in May that you’ll love too.
PASSION BY DOTERRA
I’ve always loved fragrance. Scents evoke emotion, memory, and magic. Though I no longer actively run a DoTerra business, my love for their oils remains.
Passion is my absolute favourite, cinnamon, jasmine, and pure joy in a bottle. Whisper is a close second, which carries a deep, sensual warmth. My son told me he was on the bus the other day and a lady next to him smelt like Whisper and he thought of me immediately! These blends contain no synthetics, just nature’s pure essence distilled. If you’d like to purchase them at wholesale prices, my dear friend Edwina can help.
FORREST ESSENTIALS FACE OIL
I am OBSESSED.
I have tried many oils, lotions, and potions over the years, but this is liquid gold. I bought it in India at the beginning of the year, and I’ve been rationing it drop by drop ever since.
Yes, it’s indulgent. Yes, it’s pricey (even by Indian standards). And yes, it contains ghee and milk, which I hesitated over at first (animal ingredients in skincare can feel unsettling to me, especially the new trend for tallow which is totally gross in my opinion). But the experience of using it? Absolutely divine. My skin drinks it in like nourishment from the heavens. With saffron as one of its key ingredients, it has a heady, rich fragrance that lingers beautifully. It’s a facial in a bottle.
RITUAL OIL
There is something alchemical about this oil.
It has the perfect weight, deeply moisturising and effortlessly absorbed. No greasy residue, just pure, radiant nourishment for the skin. The scent is intoxicating in the best way, and the packaging is beautiful.
I also have an old scar on my leg (courtesy of a collision with a coffee table years ago), and I swear this oil has helped soften its appearance over time. A true treasure.
I hope this little journey into my favourite beauty finds has brought you some joy. There is something so special about choosing products with intention, supporting small-batch creators, investing in quality, and savouring each drop of a precious blend.
I’d love to hear from you - what are your favourite natural, ethical beauty finds? Hit reply and share your loves with me—I’m always on the lookout for new gems.
With great love all is possible,
