A message from Katie Rose: Every year for the past eight years, I’ve run a fundraiser for Pasay Pups, a small grassroots rescue organisation in the Philippines. I began supporting them after travelling there as a volunteer and witnessing firsthand the poverty and suffering these beautiful dogs were living through. Ever since, this annual fundraiser has been a small way for me to to give back.
By joining this workshop, you’re directly contributing to food, medical care, and safety for dogs who desperately need it as well as Christmas gift packs for some of the poorest children in the world.Â
Come practise Jivamukti yoga (suitable for all levels), open your heart, and be part of something that truly makes a difference.
About Pasay Pups:
We are a small volunteer-run organisation striving to support a community in Pasay city, the Philippines, towards better animal welfare. We lead by example – providing toys, treats, nutritious food, walks, playtime and love to animals in the community – and also provide resources that are out of reach of the impoverished community – such as sturdy dog houses for chained dogs, vaccinations, and spay/neuter services. We are also the community’s only access to basic veterinary care. We also operate a weekly kids’ program in Sarhento Mariano Cemetery. The children in this area live in severe poverty and many do not attend school. Many families are food poor – eating food from the trash, locally known as “pagpag” just to survive – and there is no running water, electricity, or proper sanitation in the cemetery. The mission of the kids’ program is to provide the children in this area with a positive space where they can learn, be happy and confident, and just be kids.
